About this tool
A router or hinge jig leaves rounded corners in the pocket, and a square hinge leaf won't drop into them. Stand this spring-loaded chisel in the corner, strike the handle, and the blade cuts a clean 90° corner, so the butt hinge sits flush with the door or jamb instead of standing proud of it.
